2019 Star Count Results

For a month in February this year, the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) set people the challenge to count as many stars they could within the constellation of Orion. The aim was to create a map of light pollution across the UK from all the responses and compare it to a similar endeavour back in 2014.

In contrast to the 5 years that has seen a huge change is recycling, waste management and efficiency, light pollution has generally worsened across the country. Only a few protected areas have escaped this trend.
